The team is leaving this evening.
If I take the wings of the morning and settle at the farthest limits of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me fast. — Psalm 139:9
Today is the day we have been looking forward to! Today we will begin our trek from our home states, across the Atlantic Ocean, and on to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Leaving home, family and friends can sometimes be difficult, and this is something that your fellow travel team members understand. We hope and pray that as we depart from this place, the thoughts and feelings of sorrow that come with missing what is known may be overshadowed by the excitement of what is to come. We will be working for peace, not because we have to, but because we are called to. God has called each and every one of us to be a part of his team and to be a presence of God’s love in this part of the world.
We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make, which over time, add up to big differences we cannot foresee. — Marian Wright Edelman
